Happy Valentine’s Day, Lunar Chinese New Year and Family Day weekend!

Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day, Lunar Chinese New Year and Family Day weekend! LOVE and UNITY (Dolphin circle), Colored Pencil on paper, 10in x 10in, (circa 2002).

I drew this one from life – a wooden sculpture of two dolphins that I used to have. This was also done before I knew how to use Photoshop, so after drawing it once in pencil, I photocopied it to print a couple of different sizes. Then I used tracing paper to transfer the drawings onto watercolour paper by overlapping them multiple times to achieve the circular layout and coloring the entire piece with watercolour pencil.
