Inspiration:

I’ve lived on the Westcoast of Canada in Vancouver, BC for the majority of my life. Because of my geographical location, I’ve always had access to our beautiful parks and abundance of nature. Years of riding my bike around Stanley Park, I’d stop and find solace and inspiration from the beauty and natural wonders and wildlife who live here. On this particular day, I stopped at Lost Lagoon which is in the middle of Stanley Park and was amazed to see so many of these Wood Ducks which I’d never seen here before. They were bathed in sunlight which created beautiful and colourful reflections in the water. This magic inspired me enough to take the photo and eventually was encouraged to put it onto canvas as a commission.

Symbolism:

Wood Ducks symbolize being still and in the present moment.

Spiritual Significance:

In a time where the world is going through massive changes and transition, being still, being together and feeling connected with ourselves, each other and with the natural world are what will take us to the next level.

doTERRA Essential Oils diffused while painting this piece: (others used internally and topically)
